QUICK HITS:

Usually caused by primary oral or genital HSV that inoculates through a break in the skin.

usually on the hand.

80% of children with it have oral lesions as well.

Usually healthcare workers especially in dentistry field are the adults that get it.

They are generally self-resolving, but may last for several weeks.

Also, recurrence happens as with HSV infections.
