alcohol terminology

1 Nov

In an effort to know what you’re patients are talking about, and to know how much they drank, here’s a short list of alcohol terminology.  Feel free to submit your own, there are plenty out there.  We’ll update this or re-post as the list grows.

40/Forty = 40 0z malt liquor (bottle)

fifth = a fifth of a gallon, ~750 mL. liquor. (17-25 shots)

shot = 1-1.5 oz = 30-44 mL

pint = 1/8 gallon = 473 mL (10-15 shots)
