dermabond for post-dialysis bleeding site

Title says it all.  Credit to Dr. Perera et al for this neat trick.  

 

When direct pressure just isn’t cutting it, try….

 

2-octyl-cyanoacrylate = tissue adhesive (e.g. Dermabond)

 

we use this frequently for laceration repair, makes sense to try and use it for this purpose (if its not arterial/high pressure)

 

tip from the article: hold pressure NEAR the flowing wound, to decrease bleeding and give the dermabond a chance to dry/tamponade the bleeding
